Van Hire Conditions & FAQ

Conditions of hire are printed on the rear of the Hire Agreement. The following information is for easy reference but our staff are at your disposal to answer any queries or provide additional information.

Hire Rates

Our rates include insurance, roadside assistance, VAT and unlimited miles.

Deposit

At the commencement of each hire, we will require a security deposit of £250 to be reserved against a credit or debit card in the hirers name.

Drivers eligibility, license / ID

All Drivers must be between 25 and 65 years of age, and must produce a full valid UK license, which has been held for at least 3 Years and is free from any serious endorsements. You will also need to produce two forms of ID eg bank statement, rent book, utility bill or similar, that is less than three months old (Mobile phone bills are not accepted). Only drivers approved at the time of van rental are permitted to drive the vehicle. We will need your National Insurance Number to verify your driving Licence.

We also need to verify your driving licence information, you will need to provide us with a unique "licence check code" enabling us to view your licence details online.

You can obtain your unique check code by visiting the following website: www.viewdrivingrecord.service.gov.uk/driving-record/licence-number

To log-in to the site you will need:

  • Your 16-digit Driving Licence number
  • Your National Insurance Number
  • Your Postcode (as it appears on your driving licence card)

You should then select the option to share your licence information, which will generate your "licence check code" for you.

You will be given the option to View, print or save your licence information.

If you cannot print - no problem - but please make sure you make a note of the "check code" (which is case sensitive) and bring it to the rental office along with your licence and ID when collecting your vehicle.

Only drivers approved at the time of van rental are permitted to drive the vehicle.

Insurance/Vehicle Damage

All vehicles are insured. Hirer's are responsible for the first £500 of any damage. The following items are not covered by insurance (Tyre and wheel damage, punctures, lost wheel trims, missing fuel caps, broken aerials, loss of any parts, spare wheel, tools, radio/stereo, lenses, mirrors, interior damage) and in these cases the hirer is liable for the total cost of repair or replacement. All overhead damage is hirer's responsibility, regardless of excess. Excessive cleaning charges incurred due to misuse will also be passed on to the hirer.

Windscreens/Windows

Damaged or broken windscreens and windows are the hirer's responsibility, your liability is limited to £175.

Fuel

The hirer is required to pay for fuel used during the hire. Any extra fuel in the tank at the end of hire will not be credited.

Payment

With the exception of approved account holders we will require payment of the estimated total cost of the rental plus vat and deposit. We accept most major credit or debit cards.

Period of Hire

Our daily hire period is 24 hours from the time you have booked the van. Our weekend period is 4pm Friday to 9am Monday.

Extension of Rental

If you wish to extend the van rental beyond the date of return on the agreement, it is essential that you inform us, and additional charges paid so that the insurance may be extended. If you fail to do so you will not be insured to use the vehicle and additional excess charges will be incurred.
